March Astrology 2026: Trusting What’s Taking Shape

As we journey further into the year, we step into March, a month that typically carries the promise of renewal, the anticipation of spring, and the sense that something new is beginning to stir. Yet this year, March may feel less uplifting and more disorienting. Beneath the surface, we are moving through profound energetic shifts as major outer planets have begun changing signs, signaling the end of long-standing cycles and the clearing of space for things that have not yet begun to take form.

Adding to this sense of uncertainty, we have just emerged from the first Solar Eclipse of the season on February 17th. Eclipses often act as catalysts, opening our awareness and revealing what has been hidden or overlooked. This particular eclipse stirred collective questions around identity, direction, and belonging, themes that have been mirrored in the news, the conversations we’re having, and the realizations unfolding both personally and globally.

Rather than offering immediate clarity, this eclipse initiated a process. It is asking us to sit with what is unresolved, to notice where old narratives are no longer holding, and to acknowledge that the future is definitely not fully visible.

As if to underscore this point, March begins with a powerful Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo on March 3rd. Lunar eclipses bring culminations, emotional truths, and moments of reckoning, and Virgo’s influence draws our attention to details, patterns, and the ways we seek order and meaning. This eclipse is especially potent, as it stands opposite Mercury, the planet that rules Virgo, while Mercury is in retrograde.

Lunar Eclipses bring your unconscious feelings to the surface. They invite us to look honestly at what we have outgrown and to cleanse emotional patterns that no longer support our well-being. With this eclipse on the South Node of the Moon’s orbit, this further encourages us to let go of what no longer is serving us, releasing unnecessary habits and relationships that have served us well in the past, but are no longer useful.

This alignment suggests that the start of March is less about moving forward decisively and seeing things clearly, and more about reassessing, revisiting, and refining. We may find ourselves questioning everything we once took for granted. Information may feel incomplete or confusing, conversations may require reevaluation or revisiting, and clarity most likely will happen through reflection rather than through getting definitive outside answers. During this time, leaning into simple daily structures or grounding routines can be especially supportive, helping us stay centered as clarity gradually unfolds.

As if the eclipse energy weren’t enough, the tone of the month continues to shift as Mars entered Pisces on March 2nd, followed closely by Venus entering Aries on March 6th.

Mars represents how we move forward, assert ourselves, and pursue what we want. In Pisces, Mars loses some of its bravado. Action becomes less direct and more intuitive and emotionally driven. Rather than pushing ahead with force or assertiveness, Mars in Pisces asks us to take a different approach and move with compassion, sensitivity, and trust. Very unlike Mars’ nature. On a personal level, motivation may ebb and flow, and we may feel less inclined to act decisively. Action is still possible here, but it works best when it comes from a place of inner knowing rather than pressure.

Just a few days later, Venus moves into Aries, and the energy shifts again. With Venus now moving through Aries, a sign ruled by Mars, while Mars itself is drifting through Pisces, there can be a sense that desire and action aren’t quite moving at the same pace. We may feel clear about what we want or who we’re drawn to, yet unsure about how or when to act on it. The heart may feel ready to move forward, while our energy is still asking for space or deeper emotional clarity.

This combination can highlight where we’re feeling pulled to initiate, speak up, or make a change, even as another part of us needs time to feel our way through. It’s a reminder that wanting something doesn’t always mean it’s time to push for it. Sometimes the most supportive choice is to let things unfold in its time, allowing intuition and emotional awareness to guide the next step.

Rather than forcing decisions or outcomes, this period invites us to pay attention to our intuition, our emotional responses, and the subtle cues that tell us when something is aligned. When you are patient about moving forward with what you want, it has a better chance of growing into something that feels both real and sustainable.

On March 7th, the Sun and Mercury form an exact conjunction in Pisces, while Venus and Neptune form an exact conjunction in Aries. Once again, we see an inward focus. You are being asked to notice what’s coming up from within, rather than looking outside yourselves for answers or validation.

When the Sun and Mercury align, there’s often a moment of realization or inner clarity, but in Pisces, that clarity comes through intuition, emotion, and subtle awareness. We may find ourselves becoming more aware of what we’ve been feeling beneath the surface, thoughts we haven’t quite been able to put into words yet, or things that are sensed rather than spoken. This is a powerful time for listening to and trusting your inner voice, and allowing things to unfold naturally rather than forcing it.

At the same time, Venus and Neptune meet in Aries, heightening sensitivity around love, desire, and what we value. This alignment can feel deeply romantic or passionate, idealistic, or even a bit emotionally charged. Don’t be surprised if you find your feelings are more magnified, what you long for more pronounced, and the pull toward what feels meaningful or inspiring stronger than usual. This encourages us to check in with ourselves on a very personal level. Try to become more aware of your needs and your direction. Notice what’s rising into your awareness and allow it to shape how you show up moving forward.

Another big transition happens on March 10th, when Jupiter stations direct in Cancer. Jupiter has been retrograde since November of 2025, and as he begins to move forward again, we may notice opportunities that felt stalled or unclear may slowly start to open up, and a sense of optimism begins to return. This isn’t about sudden breakthroughs or instant expansion, but rather a feeling that things are beginning to move again. Hope grows, rooted in emotional awareness and a deeper understanding of what feels encouraging and right.

Jupiter in Cancer reminds us that growth doesn’t always come from pushing outward. Sometimes it comes from tending to what feels safe, familiar, and emotionally meaningful. As momentum builds over the coming weeks, we may feel more confident trusting our instincts, following what feels supportive, and allowing our sense of direction to unfold naturally. This steadier, more emotionally grounded energy is exactly what we’ll need in the months ahead, gently preparing us for Jupiter’s move into Leo in June, when things begin to pick up speed and feel more outwardly expressive.

March 18th brings the Pisces New Moon, offering a calmer, more reflective pause in the midst of everything else unfolding. New Moons invite fresh beginnings, but in Pisces, those beginnings are quieter. This is a time for setting intentions around healing, forgiveness, creativity, and spiritual renewal, rather than concrete plans or immediate action.

Just a couple of days later, on March 20th, the energy shifts once again as the Sun enters Aries, marking the Spring Equinox. This is one of the most significant turning points of the year, symbolizing balance, renewal, and the true beginning of the astrological new year. It’s a moment of welcoming a new cycle, gently shedding the heaviness of winter, and opening ourselves to the returning warmth and vitality of the Sun.

After weeks of reflection, release, and inner processing, we’re invited to open our hearts and reconnect with a sense of possibility. Sometimes that renewal begins in simple ways, by greeting each morning with a little more presence, curiosity, and openness to what the day may bring.

Adding to this shift, Mercury stations direct in Pisces on the same day. As Mercury begins moving forward, mental fog starts to lift and conversations slowly gain clarity. Insights that have been forming beneath the surface begin to make more sense, even if everything isn’t fully articulated yet. It may feel easier to express what you’ve been sensing intuitively over the past few weeks.

A very grounding and supportive moment arrives on March 28th, when Saturn in Aries forms a harmonious sextile with Pluto in Aquarius. This is a quietly powerful alignment, one that favors steady growth, personal responsibility, and long-term change.

There’s an opportunity here to feel more hopeful about your direction and more confident in the choices you’re making. What begins now simply needs to be deliberate. Even small, intentional steps taken at this time can have lasting impact in positive ways.

We end the month on March 30th, when Venus enters Taurus, the sign she rules. This is a very comfortable and supportive placement for Venus, allowing us to feel more content in our relationships, our bodies, and our sense of pleasure. There’s an invitation to slow down, savor beauty, and reconnect with what feels truly fulfilling, whether that’s through romance, creativity, or the simple joys of everyday life.

As March comes to a close, we’re left with a sense that something important has shifted, even if it’s still finding its shape. This has been a month of release, recalibration, and quiet turning points, from eclipse season and retrograde reflection, to moments of renewed clarity, emotional grounding, and gentle forward momentum. We carry this awareness with us, trusting that what’s taking shape now is aligning us with where we’re meant to go next.

A New Chapter Begins: January 2026 Astrology

Here we are again, welcoming a brand new year and another chance to consider how we can shine our light in ways that create a kinder, more compassionate, and more humanitarian world.

As each year begins, I find it helpful to lay out the astrological themes that will guide the months ahead. It’s not about making predictions, it’s about paying attention to the symbolic weather patterns, the shifts in tone, the beginnings and endings, the periods of building and releasing. Astrology shows us how these movements invite us to pay attention, to grow, and to figure out how to consciously participate in the energy the Universe is offering. Think of this as a map of the energetic landscape ahead: its peaks, valleys, thresholds, and the places where the path opens into something entirely new.

What makes 2026 so extraordinary is that all three of the major outer planets influencing our era, Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune, are in transition and changing sign. Of course, Pluto has had a head start transitioning into Aquarius in November of 2024, but now Uranus and Neptune follow suit shifting as well. And on top of that, Saturn, which shapes our structures and responsibilities, is also changing signs.

This many slower-moving planets shifting within such a short window is highly unusual. It’s the kind of astrological signature that marks a true turning point. A moment when the collective story rearranges itself.

I will dive into the details of all of this as the months progress, but for now, I would like to focus on January to get the story started.

January opens with strong earth-element themes, thanks to Capricorn’s influence. But the emotional landscape is immediately stirred by the first Full Moon of the year, arriving in watery, intuitive Cancer on January 3rd.

Cancer is where the Moon feels most at home, free to express her deepest and most authentic nature. This Full Moon highlights themes of sensitivity, nurturing, and emotional presence. It’s a moment to slow down and tend to your inner world and to listen to the subtle needs, longings, and truths rising to the surface. Illumination comes easily under this light, offering guidance that can support emotional healing and greater self-understanding. We are being encouraged to rest and relax after a very busy fall and holiday season.

This aligns beautifully with Capricorn’s grounding influence, as Mercury enters Capricorn on January 1st and carries its steady tone well into mid-January before the energy begins to shift.

While Mercury moves through Capricorn, your thinking naturally becomes more focused and intentional. There’s a seriousness to the way ideas form, mostly in ways that help you see what matters most, what needs structure, and what deserves long-term commitment.

Capricorn continues to hold the reins through the next ten days, bringing a strong sense of purpose and concentration to the beginning of 2026. On January 6th, the Sun joins Venus in Capricorn, highlighting themes of loyalty, commitment, and the values that truly matter to you. This pairing often brings clarity around your priorities, such as, what you want to invest in, what you’re willing to work for, and the relationships or goals that deserve your steady attention.

The very next day, on January 7th, Venus meets Mars in Capricorn. This brings a spark of motivation to anything you care about. Venus shows what we value and Mars energizes how we go after it, so together in this grounded earth sign, they encourage practical effort, responsible choices, and thoughtful action. It’s an excellent moment for building something with intention, whether that’s a new habit, a creative project, or a more balanced rhythm in your daily life.

Then, on January 9th, the Sun moves into a conjunction with Mars, strengthening this forward-moving momentum. This transit brings a renewed sense of direction, discipline, and drive. This energy is a slow, steady burn that supports long-term effort. You may find yourself feeling more focused, determined, or ready to take the first concrete steps toward something that felt out of reach before.

All of these Capricorn alignments work together to help you set the tone for the year with clarity and purpose. Early January asks you to get honest about what you’re building and to choose actions that support your inner stability. It’s a powerful reminder that meaningful beginnings often start with simple, grounded steps forward.

By January 10th, we are ready for a change. We reach the Last Quarter Moon in Libra, a phase that often brings a moment of reevaluation. Libra encourages balance, harmony, and honest reflection, so this lunar phase can highlight where something in your life is asking for recalibration. You may notice where you’ve overextended yourself, where you need clearer boundaries, or where a relationship or commitment needs gentle adjustment. Last Quarter Moons are times of release and refinement. A chance to let go of what isn’t supporting you as you prepare for the new lunar cycle ahead.

A week later, on January 17th, Venus steps into Aquarius, shifting the tone noticeably. Where Capricorn values steady devotion and practical effort, Aquarius opens the door to more spacious, creative, and future-focused perspectives. Venus in Aquarius encourages a more open-minded approach to relationships, finances, and your personal values. Freedom, authenticity, and new ways of connecting become more important. This brings a refreshing shift to your love life, opening the door to more unconventional or emotionally spacious ways of relating.

On January 18th, we welcome the Capricorn New Moon, a grounding reset point that aligns beautifully with the tone of the month. Every New Moon brings a subtle new beginning, an invitation to plant seeds for what you want to build. In Capricorn, these intentions tend to revolve around discipline, long-term vision, and the slow, steady work that leads to meaningful accomplishment. This is a wonderful moment to outline your goals for the year, clarify what you want to commit to, and choose practices that strengthen your inner foundation.

The very next day, January 19th, the Sun enters Aquarius, ushering in a noticeable energetic shift. Where Capricorn season is about structure and responsibility, Aquarius season brings a breath of fresh air ushering in innovation, curiosity, and the impulse to break out of old patterns. It encourages you to think differently, to explore possibilities, and to align yourself with the future you’re ready to grow into. The energy becomes lighter, more experimental, and more socially attuned, helping you to envision what could be.

And on January 20th, Mercury also enters Aquarius, adding clarity and forward-thinking insight to this new momentum. Mercury in Aquarius sharpens your intuition, sparks inventive ideas, and helps you view situations from a broader perspective. Communication becomes more open, creative, and future-focused, making this an ideal moment to share ideas, brainstorm possibilities, or reconnect with the vision you’re shaping for the year ahead.

Then, with Mars following closely behind and entering Aquarius on January 23rd, the momentum toward innovation and forward movement grows even stronger. Mars brings drive, courage, and action, and in Aquarius it encourages you to experiment, think outside the box, and take steps that support a more authentic expression of who you are becoming.

And layered into all of this is one of the more powerful alignments of the month, a conjunction between the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius. This marks the first full Sun/Pluto conjunction in Aquarius of our lifetime, symbolizing a collective and personal turning point. Sun/Pluto alignments illuminate truth, reveal what’s ready to be transformed, and strengthens your resolve to step into a more empowered version of yourself. In Aquarius, this transformation points toward your future: your voice, your freedom, your role within the larger community, and the systems or stories you’re ready to outgrow.

We come to the end of this month as Neptune, the first of the outer planets to change signs in the new year, enters Aries, initiating brand-new journeys for itself and for us. This alone signals that we’re stepping into a major new era in human history, one that asks us to begin again and take ownership of our path.

This is where the deeper themes of 2026 truly begin to unfold. Neptune crosses into Aries on January 26th, where it will remain until May of 2038. Before this shift, Neptune had been in Pisces, its home sign, since 2011. That’s a long stretch of watery, emotional, and idealistic energy.

As Neptune leaves Pisces, we close a 14-year chapter of spiritual dissolution. A time when the veil felt thin, intuition was heightened, and yet clarity wasn’t always easy to grasp. When Neptune enters Aries, the tone changes dramatically.

Aries is ambitious, courageous, and action-oriented. It does not wait; it leads. So as Neptune, the planet of dreams, intuition, ideals, and the collective spiritual current, moves into fiery, risk-taking Aries, we feel a collective pull toward embodiment.

Neptune in Aries encourages us to fight for our ideals, not just feel them. It calls for bravery on a soul level and the courage to stand for truth, act on intuition, and take personal responsibility for the kind of world we want to help create.

This transit ushers in a new era of spiritual independence, self-trust, and inspired action. Neptune in Aries invites us to step out of the fog and move forward with purpose, clarity, and heart.

As we step into 2026, remember that these shifts aren’t just occurring in the sky, they’re unfolding through us. With so many planets changing signs, the year ahead asks us to move forward with courage, clarity, and consciousness. January opens the door to a new chapter, encouraging each of us to listen, act with intention, and trust our instincts. May this month be the beginning of a year that feels aligned, inspired, and true to the path your soul is ready to walk.
