A Shake-Up Arrives: Mars Meets Uranus
We enter July still coasting on that Capricorn Full Moon energy from June 29th, carrying themes of commitment, responsibility, and a desire to focus on what truly matters. However, things may not stay quite so steady for long.
On July 4th, Mars in Gemini joins forces with Uranus, bringing a burst of restless and unpredictable energy into the mix. I find it fascinating that this alignment occurs on the 250th anniversary of our country's birth. It will be interesting to watch what unfolds over the coming months and years, as Uranus often accompanies turning points, breakthroughs, and unexpected shifts that are only fully understood in hindsight.

Individually, this energy sometimes shows up as a brilliant idea, an unexpected opportunity, or the courage to make a change you've been considering for some time. Other times, it can feel like life has decided to rearrange the schedule without asking permission first. Plans may shift, surprises may arise, and the pace of life may feel a little more accelerated than usual.
While this energy can be unpredictable, it also has a way of shaking us out of complacency and opening doors we may not have noticed before. The best approach is to stay flexible, keep an open mind, and leave a little room for the unexpected.
The 7:7 Portal & Neptune Retrograde
On July 7th Neptune retrogrades in Aries until December 12th.
But before we look at how this retrograde will affect our energy, I want to comment on July 7th itself. There is a numerology significance to the 7:7 portal. This is known as a powerful angel number that has long been viewed as a gateway to heightened spiritual alignment and inner wisdom. This energy lines up beautifully with Neptune.
Neptune is the planet of spirituality and rules the 12th house of inner wisdom, intuition, and imagination. Neptune is also famous for creating illusion, self-delusion, and fantasy. This is an extremely watery planet that can sometimes cloud our minds, creating uncertain thoughts and misunderstood perceptions.
The interesting thing that happens during a Neptune retrograde is that, instead of creating more mental confusion, the opposite happens. Neptune actually provides deeper clarity, allowing you to see things more realistically and with greater awareness. It can almost seem as if a veil has been lifted.

It will be easier for you to see situations more clearly. This time period encourages you to view the most difficult aspects about yourself, your life, and your relationships with others, with no blinders on.
During this time, it is particularly important to stay true to yourself and pay attention to what is being revealed. If something no longer feels aligned, Neptune retrograde has a way of bringing that awareness to the surface.
While the answers may not arrive all at once, this period can help you separate intuition from wishful thinking and gain a deeper understanding of your hopes, dreams, and motivations.

Finally, we leave the watery and compassionate energy of Cancer and enter Leo season on July 22nd.
As Cancer season comes to an end, we begin to gently emerge from our shell. The emotional and intuitive insights we've been nurturing now seek expression, calling us to create, share, and engage more fully with life.
The Sun in Leo draws us outward into a more dynamic and playful energy, encouraging creativity, confidence, and authentic self-expression.
Leo is ruled by the Sun, the center of our solar system and a symbol of radiance, vitality, and life force. At its highest expression, Leo teaches us that true confidence comes not from seeking attention, but from embracing who we are and sharing our gifts from the heart.

Right on cue, as if to reward us for our patience, Mercury stations direct in Cancer on July 23rd.

We no sooner step out of one retrograde than we enter another on July 26th, as Saturn goes retrograde in Aries until December 10th.
This stretch of time is less about pushing forward and more about taking an honest look at how you move through life.
With Saturn in Aries and retrograde, we are encouraged to reflect on how we handle responsibility, boundaries, and self-leadership. It is calling us to rebuild from the inside out, re-evaluating how we approach life with greater discipline and integrity.

The Lion’s Gate Portal arrives on July 28th, offering a powerful opportunity to connect more deeply with your spiritual path.
This alignment occurs when the Sun in Leo, the star Sirius, Orion’s Belt, and the Earth come into a special configuration.
Astrologically, the Lion’s Gate Portal is believed to open a channel between the spiritual and physical worlds, making it an ideal time for reflection, personal growth, intention-setting, and spiritual exploration.

We end the month with a Full Moon in Aquarius on July 29th, illuminating the balance between personal self-expression and our connection to the greater collective.
With the Sun also connecting to expansive Jupiter in Leo, this Full Moon reminds us that each of us has unique gifts, talents, and insights to share.

A Full Moon brings awareness and illumination, helping us recognize where growth is needed and where change is ready to occur.
